| Hello! My name is Mitsuko Ito - I am glad you are visiting this page. It is currently under construction and I hope to see a polish in the coming weeks. I was born in the US, have grown up in Tokyo, Japan, thus speak both English and Japanese comfortably. My two children were born in Boston and Cambridge, MA, where we spent 6 years altogether. I am also expecting another baby in May, and am delighted that I will have a chance to give birth here on the west coast. I have been interested in the medical field since I arrived to the US, but was busy with my own pregnancies and children - combine them together, I am excited to receive doula training here in Seattle, right where the doula movement all started! I have personal experience with C-section, food allergies & asthma, VBAC, accupuncture for pain control, baby sign language, and am hoping to learn more about water-birth and infant potty training. I have given birth at a huge hospital in Boston under the care of an MD, and also at a local community hospital through a group midwife practice. I have a WA State Certified Medical Interpreter,, and am currently in the process of applying for a DONA certification as a birth doula.
